Health protection
Health care services are provided to the beneficiaries by 8 doctors (physicians), 3 of whom are specialists, 1 dentist and 4 general practitioners, as well as by 48 nurses and 6 physical therapists. Four nurses work in the Shelter, 3 work in clubs and 25 in the Department for Home Care and Assistance. Different specialised doctors, consultants, psychiatrist and doctor of internal medicine are also involved if necessary.
The beneficiaries are provided different services within primary health protection in the field of general medicine, dentistry, as well as certain forms of specialised health protection (internal medicine, neuropsychiatry and physical medicine). Adequate therapies are prescribed during the detailed medical examination of beneficiaries on the occasion of their accommodation in the Home. Prescriptions necessary for certain therapies, including special diets are prescribed. In addition to regular feeding and nursing, the nurses also administer parietal and perioral therapy, they nurse wounds, administer infusions, place and flush catheters, conduct vaccination, execute ear washing, take smears, conduct ECG, provide oxygen therapies etc. All the examinations and interventions are recorded in health records while prescribed medical records and documentation are kept in all health centres. Dr Snezana Deloik, a general practitioner is co-ordinator in charge of health protection who co-ordinates the execution of specialised tasks in the field of health protection of beneficiaries accommodates in Homes and those beneficiaries of the Centre who are provided services at their homes.
