Shelter Centre

The Shelter for Adults and Elderly People functions in a separate premise built for that purpose within the complex of the Retired and Elderly People’s Home in Futog.
Its function is to accept and accommodate all persons in social need, who belong to the category of those acutely threatened, by providing temporary accommodation during which their psycho-physical status is determined as well as the future permanent form of social protection.

It disposes with 35 beds, 8 of which are designated to immobile beneficiaries. The accommodation of good quality is provided in a modern and functionally equipped premise, meals are in compliance with the valid standards and so are the health care and rehabilitation and social work services.

Persons who are faced with temporary vital threat due to a difficult health status, poor material situation, unresolved housing problems, alcoholism or socially negative behaviour (vagrancy, begging) are being accepted and accommodated on a temporary but comprehensive basis. The structure of employees, who provide services to the beneficiaries, is identical with the structure of employees within the Centre. Humane accommodation facilities, standards of qualified staff and methods of the expert procedure implementation create the optimum conditions of social rehabilitation of the accommodated persons. The accommodation in the Shelter lasts until the beneficiaries are returned to their families or they are accommodated permanently into one of the social protection facilities. Mrs Gordana Djuric, general practitioner is the Director of this Work Unit.Tel: + 381 21 895 760 and + 381 21 444 936
