Day-care centre for elderly people Day-care centre is located in the Retired Peoples’ Home at Novo naselje, in Bate Brkica Street no. 17. It was established on July 1st, 2008 within the pilot-project titled “Improvement of social protection of elderly people in the territory of Novi Sad” that was supported and financed by the Italian Embassy, Italian Region of Emilia-Romagna, humanitarian organisation Progetto-Sviluppo and Department for social and children’s protection of the City of Novi Sad. The main objective of work of the Day-care Centre is providing and satisfying of basic needs of elderly people through providing of the following services: transport from the beneficiary’s home to the Day-care Centre and back maintaining of personal hygiene meals (two, or three meals a day if necessary) medical services (measuring of vital functions, administering of oral therapy and health status monitoring) physical therapy and rehabilitation organising of free time activities for beneficiaries (work-occupational, cultural-entertaining, and sports-recreational activities). The capacity of the Day-care Centre is 20 beneficiaries. The Day-care Centre for elderly people and people with chronic diseases, adults and elderly people with disabilities, as well as persons in the initial stadium of dementia.
